LA Crude bring home two city championships

Div. 1 Women's, Div. 3 Men's teams win in Edmonton

The LA Crude Rugby Club went two for two at the City Championships in Edmonton this past weekend.

The Women's Division 1 team took home the Johnsen Cup, after a 31-22 win over the Edmonton Lep/Tigers.

It's the first year the Crude have fielded a female Division 1 team, and also the third year in a row that a women's team has competed for the city championships.

On the Men's side, the Division 3 Crude won the Visser Cup, with a 63-5 win over the Edmonton Clansmen.

The team will now move onto Provincials this coming Saturday September 28th, at Edmonton's Ellerslie Rugby Club at 11 am.

The team is looking to win a provincial title after its city championship - a feat matched by last year's men's Division 2 team.
