Wetaskiwin RCMP looking to identify armed robber

The incident occurred on Tuesday at 1:24 a.m.

Wetaskiwin RCMP is looking for a suspect following an armed robbery early Tuesday morning.

Police say at about 1:24 a.m., they responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Wetaskiwin 7-eleven.

A man had attempted to rob the store with bear spray, while demanding money from the store clerk. RCMP say nothing was taken as the cash register was locked, and that the man running the store was left unharmed.

Officers say an unknown woman had just left the store before the incident occurred.

The male suspect is described as 5’9” tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a light-grey sweater with dark sleeves.
