Wetaskiwin man faces 15 charges after pointing gun at visitor

Wayne Wiebe (37) was arrested and charged on Monday.

A Wetaskiwin man has been charged following an altercation on Monday morning.

RCMP say they received a report from a male victim, who upon arrival at a Wetaskiwin home, had a gun pointed at him.

Luckily no one was injured, and no rounds were fired. The two men are known to each other.

Following an investigation by several Wetaskiwin police units, a suspect at the same address was arrested without incident.

Wayne Wiebe (37) faces multiple firearms-related charges, a drug charge, and eight counts of failure to comply with conditions of release.

Wiebe was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 22
