RCMP: Incident determined to be a fabrication
Update (March 19):
Leduc RCMP say they've closed the book on an alleged sexual assault from earlier this year.
Last month, police said a woman had reported it happening on a date at Telford Lake, where she'd met up with a man she'd initially connected with through an online dating app.
On Tuesday, police confirmed that after an extensive investigation, they've determined that the accusation had been fabricated.
No charges were laid, as the case has since been closed.
