Two teenagers arrested following report of shots fired on First Nation

Two teens from Maskwacis arrested following the report of shots fired and stolen vehicle

An alleged shooting on a First Nation over the weekend has led to a pair of arrests.

RCMP in Maskwacis were called out to the Samson Cree First Nation at around 9:30 Saturday evening to a report of shots fired at a home from a vehicle.

The vehicle that was used by the shooters was identified by some witnesses and it was determined it was stolen when it was discovered abandoned.

After leaving that vehicle the suspects stole another vehicle from Ermineskin First Nation.

Police found the suspects however a short time later in Wetaskiwin trying to get away when the vehicle got stuck in the snow.

A pair of rifles were found by police and a 16 and 17-year-old male youth from Maskwacis were arrested and charged with multiple counts related to the use and possession of firearms plus charges related to the stolen vehicles.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
