Highway 19 crash leads to two deaths

Leduc RCMP responded to a serious crash on Highway 19 yesterday, that took the lives of two men.

The head-on crash happened at just about 5:00 in the afternoon on Highway 19 near Range Road 261.

Once crews got there, they found that a Chevrolet Malibu had crashed head-on with a westbound Chrysler Neon.

The 56-year-old man from New Sarepta driving the Malibu and the 45-year-old man from Thorsby driving the Neon were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers were the only ones inside their respective vehicles.

An RCMP collision analyst was also sent to the crash, the cause and factors of which are still under investigation.

The families of the victims have been notified.  (JSL/EC/THE ONE NEWS)
