Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Leduc Santa's Helper
The Leduc Roughnecks are encouraging people to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed toys for tonight's game at the Rec Centre.
That's because for the very first time they're organizing a teddy bear toss to benefit a holiday charity in Leduc.
Roughnecks Co-Manager Laura Ohlmann tells The One News the goal behind this event.
"To help the children in our community who are less fortunate, my daughter's team did it last year in Edmonton and it was great so I wanted to bring it back to Leduc where we're we're originally from and started it here," says Ohlmann.
When the first goal is scored fans will toss the teddy bears onto the ice at the Wilhauk Beef Jerky Arena inside the Rec Centre.
Tonight the Roughnecks take on the Edmonton Thunder, game time is 6:45. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
