Riggers take on Knights in playoffs starting tonight

For the first time since 2015, the Leduc Riggers will be playing in the post-season of the Capital Junior Hockey League.

Tonight they begin a best-of-three series with the Sherwood Park Knights.

Head Coach Carter Huebner tells The One News what will be the key to shutting down the Knights.

"They're a very skilled team but I don't think they're as physical as Beaumont or Wetaskiwin, I think that gives us a bit of an edge in the physicality department and we're just going to have to minimize their chances and capitalize on every scoring opportunity that we have," says Huebner.

The Riggers saw huge improvements throughout the regular season finishing with 10 more wins then they had the previous season finishing with 16 wins and 35 points.

Puck drop tonight from Sherwood Park will be at 8:30, game 2 is here in Leduc at Sobeys Arena on  Monday at 7:30.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
