Day camps to launch in July and continue until mid-August.
Devon’s Recreation department has prepared a modified plan for summer recreation that follows the Government of Alberta’s Stage 1 regulations for day camp safety.
The town’s summer day camps will begin running the second week of July until mid-August and will feature different themes each week. Two separate 2-day camps will take place each week, with camps for ages three to five taking place in the morning (between 9 am and 12 pm) and ages six to 10 in the afternoon ( from 1 pm until 4 pm).
The cost to register for each camp is only $15, and all camps will run outdoors next to the Devon Community Centre on Mondays & Tuesdays and Thursdays & Friday. A maximum of 8 kids per camp has been set to follow the province's health and safety regulations, and daily health reports will also be required for all participants planning to attend the camps. The health reports will be facilitated by summer camp staff.
Registration for day camps will follow a staggered launch throughout summer with each week opening up for registration 4 weeks before they are scheduled to run and closing after 2 weeks. Registration for the first camp scheduled for July 6 will open up on June 8 at devon.recdesk.com.

The Town of Devon’s Summer Shack has adopted a virtual format for the year and will feature do-it-yourself craft tutorials starting June 2. Virtual Summer Shacks will continue to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer and a list of the crafts planned for each week along with supplies needed will be available at devon.ca/summer-shack.
The tutorials will be shared through the Town of Devon YouTube channel (DevonAlberta) and featured via the Town’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and any questions about Summer Shack can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
