Provincial Election scheduled for April 16

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley has called an election for April 16.

Notley asked cheering supporters standing behind her in Calgary this morning if they are ready to fight for an Alberta that benefits everyone.

A new session of the legislature began Monday with a throne speech that focused on the NDP government's accomplishments in the last four years from building schools, roads, and hospitals to provide more supports for seniors, students and those in need.

Running for a seat in Leduc-Beaumont are NDP incumbent Shaye Anderson, for the UCP it's Brad Rutherford, for the Alberta Party Robb Connelly, for the Alberta Advantage Gil Poitras, Jeff Rout for the Freedom Conservative Party, and Jenn Roach for the Green Party of Alberta.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
