The City of Leduc wants to remind the public about parking etiquette. Leduc Enforcement Sevices have experienced a small jump in Parking related files in 2019, over the previous year: 605 compared to 509.
Some types of calls Leduc Enforcement services receive are:
-Parking on park land and green spaces.
-Parking longer than 72 hours, which is considered abandoning your vehicle.
-Parking and blocking fire hydrants, residential driveways, sidewalks and disabled stalls.
-Parking in a way that blocks a driver's view at an intersection.
When dealing with Parking concerns Leduc Enforcement Services can use The City of Leduc's Traffic Bylaw 878-2014 and the Alberta Traffic Safety Act as tools.
According to the City's bylaw:
-Parking in a disabled stall is prohibited unless the vehicle has a clear identification placard.
-Parking in a fire lane or emergency lane is prohibited for the public.
-Parking within 5 meters of a crosswalk or intersection is prohibited.
-Parking on any part of a sidewalk or boulevard is prohibited.
