One man dead following two vehicle crash on Highway 39

70-year-old man killed following collision Wednesday morning

Police in Thorsby are looking into a crash which left one person dead on Wednesday morning.

They were called out the scene just before 10 am where a two-vehicle collision took place on Highway 39 and Range Road 25.

They're still investigating the cause but early reports indicate a pickup truck was pulling onto the Highway from a residential driveway while another pickup truck was heading east on highway 39 causing both vehicles collided.

The driver of the truck heading onto the Highway was a 70-year-old man who was declared dead at the scene while the other truck driver did not need any medical attention.

Traffic was diverted for several hours while an RCMP Collision Analyst investigated the scene.

The name of the deceased has not been released.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
