New online tool shows criminal activity that's been happening over a 14-day period

Leduc introducing new crime mapping tool

The city with the help of local RCMP has a new online resource to give people an insight into numerous crimes that may have occurred around the community.

The Crime map tool will serve as a way to raise awareness on areas you might want to avoid and provide statistical information to help combat any issues that may arise.

Inspector Dale Kendall with Leduc RCMP explains to The One News exactly how it works.

"It's a tool that provides all Albertans and residents with statistical information over a 14-day period of the top five property crimes that are occurring within their communities," says Kendall.

The crime map aims to educate everyone on the illegal happenings in their community and Kendall hopes this will help raise awareness on these issues in the future.
