Multiple Charges Laid Following an Investigation into Drug Traffickers

The Leduc RCMP have started 2018 off with a investigation into local drug traffickers.

On January 4, 2018 the Leduc RCMP Drug Section conducted an operation targeting drug traffickers in the City of Leduc. The investigation resulted in multiple arrests and the execution of a search warrant at a local residence.

30-year-old Kristin Sheils and 25-year-old Garett Faryna both of Leduc have been charged with trafficking cocaine. Sheils is scheduled to appear in provincial court on January 25 and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of FARYNA.

A third suspect, 24-year-old Joseph Turcotte, is wanted by police after fleeing a local drug house during this investigation. He is now charged with several offences including dangerous driving and operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police.

"The fact our unit has made multiple arrests only days into the New Year is a sobering reminder of the ongoing illicit drug trade in Leduc. Fortunately, the support we have received from City Council has provided us the resources we need to continue our fight against drugs in our community." says Acting Sergeant Lyle Rattray, head of the Leduc RCMP Drug Section.
