Legacy Place Society gets big funding boost from Leduc Legion
The Legacy Place Society has gotten a big Christmas gift from the city's legion.
The society which provides support and resources to military personnel and first responders is getting $10,000 from the Leduc Legion Branch 108 to help people in Red Deer, Edmonton, and Calgary who need professional or medical help or peer support, family support and bursaries.
The money is being taken from the legions poppy fund because the legacy operates in a similar manner to the legion in that they support veterans directly.
The Legacy Place Society has been in operation since 1997 when it was founded by a group of Calgary and Edmonton Police officers who wanted more services for first responders and military personnel to help with the stresses that come with those jobs. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
