One woman has been arrested after a suspicious fire in an emergency room washroom at the Leduc Hospital.
The RCMP have one female in custody following an investigation into a deliberately set fire on March 29, 2018.
Just before 5 a.m., Leduc Fire and RCMP were called to the Leduc Hospital as a result of a suspicious fire being set in an emergency room washroom.
A female suspect was identified as being seen in the emergency ward at the hospital then later bringing material into the washroom.
Nadine Breau, 45-years-old was arrested near the hospital a short time after the fire was discovered.
She has been charged with arson, two counts of mischief causing property damage, possession of stolen property and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. A bail hearing was held and she will remain in custody pending her first appearance court date on April 5.
It is very fortunate the fire was quickly contained and that no one was injured.
The RCMP are pleased the continuing partnership with Leduc Emergency Services in an effort to keep the Leduc a safe community.
