UPDATE: Leduc RCMP Investigate Suspicious Package At A Apartment Building

Leduc RCMP are investigating a suspicious package in the parkade near an apartment building on Keystone Crescent.

UPDATE:

The RCMP with the assistance of the Explosives Device Unit have determined that the package located in the parkade of an apartment building is a non-threat.

Criminal charges are not anticipated as a result of this incident.

The public is thanked for their patience during this event.

Leduc RCMP are currently deployed to a suspicious package in the parkade of an apartment building on Keystone Crescent.

Shortly before 1pm, RCMP received a complaint from an employee at the location that a suspicious package was located, RCMP and the Leduc Fire Services and Transit are assisting with evacuations of the affected building, The Explosives Device Unit has been deployed to secure and remove the package as well.

One 36 year old male from Leduc is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing, at this point, RCMP have not identified the contents of the package but in the interest of public safety they're asking the public to steer clear of the affected area.

A further update will be provided by the RCMP when available.
