Tyler Smith playing first game tonight since Broncos bus crash

One of Leduc's own is ready to hit the ice for the first time since a horrific tragedy that rocked the hockey world.

Tyler Smith was one of 13 players hurt in the Humbolt Broncos bus crash in April which claimed the lives of 16 people.

Smith has been recovering from a broken collarbone, shoulder blade, plus nerve damage in his left side since the crash and is expected to draw into the lineup tonight as the Broncos host the Melville Millionaires.

Smith says the toughest part of coming back has been in the locker room which still has the inspirational words of his former coach Darcy Haugan who lost his life in that crash.

While recovering Smith was in Leduc helping to coach the Oil Kings minor hockey clubs.  (JSL/THE ONE)
