Curlers from Leduc representing Canada at World Junior Championships
A pair of curlers from Leduc will be competing for a world junior title starting this weekend.
Canada's team is skipped by Selena Sturmay and also features lead Paige Papley, two Leduc products who will be competing at the World Junior Championships February 16-23 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.
Sturmay tells The One News what it means to her to represent her country.
"It definitely feels unreal, and honestly I don't think it's quite set in and I don't think it will set in until I get there, but curling being such a popular sport in Canada it's definitely an honor to wear the maple leaf proudly on your back anytime that you can" says Sturmay.
Sturmay and Papley both curl for the University of Alberta Pandas.
The team went unbeaten en route to the Canadian Junior title in January, you can see the full schedule here http://worldcurling.org/wjcc2019/schedule. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
