Nisku Carpenter Company give $5,000 to Boys and Girls Club of Leduc
For 30 years they've given kids aged 6-17 an opportunity to enjoy a variety of after-school activities and some generous funding will go a long way to keep those programs going.
Amega-West Canada is a Carpenter Company in Nisku which recently gave $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc.
Amega-West recently received that money for winning an Impact Award for its Strategic Marketing.
Brittany Smith, the Coordinator of the Boys and Girls Club in Leduc tells the One News how they plan to use the money donated.
"We offer a cooking program so that can go help fund groceries for the cooking program, we offer music lessons so that can help fund our instructors or instruments we may have to buy that sort of thing, we do a physical activity program within the fieldhouse of the LRC, that can help fund some equipment for our kids or bring in instructors for different programs within the gym here in the LRC, it could provide us with snacks to feed our kids throughout the week" says Smith.
The Boys and Girls Club has provided a safe and supportive environment for children in Leduc and surrounding communities since 1988.
