Former NHLer has fond memories of playing hockey in Leduc
The ultimate touring hockey festival makes a stop in Leduc this weekend.
The city is one of 25 communities that Hometown Hockey will feature with Ron MacLean and Tara Slone and live entertainment and more.
Bob McGill grew up playing minor hockey in Leduc before playing 13 seasons in the NHL.
McGill tells The One News what it was like growing up playing minor hockey in Leduc.
"The sense of community was amazing and the rink used to be packed with people coming out to all the games because hockey was sort of the place where you could all congregate and meet and see all your friends and buddies and stuff," says McGill.
The festival opens Saturday at noon at the Leduc Rec Centre with an outdoor viewing party on Sunday.
