Open House in Calmar tonight to hear about Intermunicipal Development Plan

The first of many open houses to ensure long term growth around the black gold region takes place tonight.

First up when it comes to the intermunicipal development plan is Calmar who along with Leduc County have prepared a plan for lands adjacent to the town within the County.

The province has made it mandatory that all municipalities with common boundaries have to by the spring of 2021 adopt both an intermunicipal development plan(IDP) and an intermunicipal development framework.

Tonight's event will allow the public to learn more about the project and speak with members of the construction team at Stantec about the draft plan while also hearing a formal presentation.

It runs from 7-9 pm at the Program Centre(Community Hall) in Calmar located at 4815- 49 street in Calmar.  On Wednesday they'll have an open-house in Warburg from 7-9pm at the Pioneer Recreation Centre at 5335- 50A Avenue in Warburg.  On Thursday there will be a town hall in Thorsby to discuss the initiative from 7-9pm at the Seniors Centre (4812 51 street) in Thorsby.
