First ever career fair takes place at Beaumont Library today

Beaumont Public Library holding a career fair today

The Beaumont Library is hoping to make the search for a new career a little easier for people tonight.

Beginning at 5:30 the Public Library is hosting their first annual career fair.

The event is geared towards grade 11 and 12 students along with those looking for a career change.

The Libraries Program Coordinator Andrea Ciochetti tells The One News they hope this will make career and post-secondary searches a little simpler.

"We've invited and have 10 post-secondary institutions coming as well as a number of industry representatives, renewable energy, some of the big employers such as police services, fire services, Nav Canada with aviation, we're trying to hit bits and pieces of everything for people to come in," says Ciochetti.

The initiative came about from a library session with a community planning committee which suggested career development was their most wanted service.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
