Beaumont holding final open-house on 2019 budget tonight at Ken Nichol Rec Centre
The town of Beaumont will be discussing how the budget will look next year and are inviting anyone in the community to voice their opinions.
From 5-7 pm at the Ken Nichol Regional Rec Centre, anyone living in Beaumont is welcome to chime in before a final decision is made.
Last month during budget deliberations council agreed to a municipal tax increase of 1.88% thanks to a 3.41% assessment growth this year.
A number of local organizations will be getting funding as part of the budget as well.
Council is giving the Blues and Roots Festival $50,000, and another $50,000 to Beaumont Arts Society Events.
Grant funding for arts and culture in Beaumont will increase significantly next year as well to $190,000.
The budget will get final approval at their council meeting December 11. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
