Crime is declining according to quarterly report in Wetaskiwin

Wetaskiwin crime is on the decline

A strong focus on public offenders appears to be helping decrease crime in Wetaskiwin.

Police in the city have made it a point to crack down on them and according to the last quarterly report crime, in general, appears to be on the decline this year.

Property crimes are down 47% while police say they got 979 calls for service which is a decrease of 34.8%.

So far this year RCMP have investigated 28 armed robberies, 26 of those have led to charges being laid.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
