City's tax impact to be lowered this year
The city's enhanced transit services have found some cost savings which has made for a lower tax revenue requirement this year.
In 2019 Leduc's tax revenue requirement was originally set at 2.89 percent, however, that's been changed to 2.78 thanks to the savings in enhanced transit.
Council was able to apply those savings and that means the projected 2.78 percent tax revenue requirement would equate to an increment of $79 for the year or $7 a month for an average market value home of $350,000; based on municipal portion.
Leduc's administration and council were able to identify four enhanced service levels in this year's budget including, youth wellness initiative, Leduc Recreation Centre seniors facility access initiative, Family and Community Support Services client service levels and waste diversion public education initiative.
The 2019 Property Tax Bylaw will go before council on April 29 for second and third reading. https://www.leduc.ca/news/enhanced-transit-savings-applied-lower-tax-impact-278. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
