Leduc releasing holiday tree pickup schedule and curbside collection

The city is making you aware of changes to their curbside collection schedule during the holiday season.

To Eco Station will have limited hours and some closures starting next week.

They will be closed on Christmas Day along with Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.

To help you manage extra waste over the holiday season the Eco Station is accepting your first bag of waste free of charge while every additional bag will be 2$.

Meanwhile, Christmas Tree pickup will happen on your regular collection the week of January 7 from 7 am to 7 pm.

They ask that you take the following steps to ensure your tree is picked up:

-Take off tinsel and ornaments

-Cut the tree in lengths no longer than 1.2 metres, or four feet

-Place the loose tree pieces at the curb at least one metre away from your blue bags

-Do not put tree pieces in plastic bags.

Anyone who wants to dispose of their natural trees earlier or later than the scheduled pickup can drop them off at the Yard Waste Transfer Station at 3719- 48 Avenue, north of the Leduc Recreation Centre.

Drop off is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can find more information by e-mailing http://ecosmart@leduc.ca or call them at 780-980-7107.
