Leduc City Council discussed upcoming tax adjustments to residential and non-residential homes in Leduc.
City Council estimates that out of the total 13,026 residential properties within the city, around 82% will see a 0.1- 10% decrease in property tax rates. With an 14% seeing an estimated 0.5%- 9% increase.
The City of Leduc Finance department is also changing how property owners received their tax and assessment notices. All notices are set to be mailed out on January 2nd and open houses will be held on March 19th and the 25th to address any questions.
These service adjustments outline a number of benefits to Leduc property owners such as; receiving their assessments earlier in the year and seeing more time to review their property assessment.
Once property assessments are received, property owners will have until March 30, 2020, to submit a formal complaint if required.
With property assessments going out next week, the city’s new appeal process allows property owners time to review and submit any assessment appeals before tax notices are sent in May.
