City partnering with Leduc Golf Course

Leduc's Golf Course has reached a Memorandum of Agreement(MOA) with the city to preserve if's golf lands and enhance their facility.

With the agreement, it will be possible to transfer the title of the golf course lands to the city and all capital improvements to the facility would be taken care of by the city while the golf club would operate the golf course under an operating/lease agreement.

The Golf Course General Manager James Whitton tells The One News the benefits they see with partnering with the City.

"We're very excited about looking at partnering with the City of Leduc especially what it does for access to important upgrades to the product, the golf course, the facilities, everything like that, the access it gives to the citizens of Leduc, what we can do to preserve this green space and keep the City of Leduc an attractive place for families to live" says Whitton.

Final details are still being worked out on the agreement and how operations will work.

Public engagement will also be held in the months to come.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
