Leduc Senior girls Volleyball Team goes unbeaten to claim Metro League title

It's been a season to remember for the senior girls' volleyball team at Christ the King school here in Leduc.

With many of the girls graduating this year, the Metro League season has served as a rallying cry for the Chargers team to make the most of this opportunity.

So far they've done exactly that capturing the Division 4 Metro League title without losing a single game.

Chargers Head Coach Gwen Detterman tells The One News the entire team has contributed to this stellar season.

"A lot of these girls are viewing it like they want this to be the best season ever, so they have been really focused but you know our grade 11 and 10 students have been huge contributors also to it so it truly is a team effort," says Detterman.

The Chargers won the Metro League title without losing a single set last weekend for their second consecutive league title.

They can qualify for provincials next Wednesday with a win over JH Picard at Christ the King School, that game gets underway at 5:30.

They play Millwoods Christian in Millwoods November 15th which will serve as a seeding game for provincials if they qualify.  (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
