Canada Games Torch Relay comes to Leduc
A part of the Canada Games will be making a brief stopover in Leduc this morning.
For the first time in its 52 year history, the torch for the games will make it's way across the country including here in the city.
The torch relay begins at 11:30 am with a celebration to follow at Noon at the Leduc Rec Centre.
The Canada Games take place February 15- March 3 in Red Deer and will feature 150 events in 19 sports with up to 3,600 athletes competing.
Mayor Bob Young, along with local MP Jim Eglinski and former mayor Greg Kriske will be among those carrying the Roly McLenehan torch through the city before it moves on to its next community and eventually touches down in Red Deer. (JSL/THE ONE NEWS)
