On the second Saturday in July, nearly 120 artists and artisans will line Main Street, Leduc to show and sell original artwork and handmade goods in the Leduc Arts Foundry Art Walk. This is a free, accessible arts and cultural festival for all ages!
While fundraising and planning for the centre, the current platform to engage with the community and partner with local artists and artisans is through the Leduc Art Walk which is held on the second Saturday of July each year.
This will be the third year in which it brings together approximately 100 artists and artisans and coordinate a show stopper - family friendly free - arts and music festival day.
The Art Walk not only is an opportunity for patrons to buy art and meet the artists, but also to get involved in participating in various art forms free of charge for the day - these have included throwing down some clay and working it at the pottery wheel, take a painting class, participating in the many community art projects, visit Minnie the painting pig, and more.
Last year there was over 8000 in attendance and this year it's anticipated reaching 10,000 if it's a nice sunny day.
